KIKI LAWRIE
Plastic artist
Kiki studied arts at the National University of Córdoba, obtaining the titles: Licenntiate in Painting and Licentiate in Sculpture. Since the year 2000 she works and lives in the city of Buenos Aires, where, till 2003 does clinics with Eduardo Medici and with Horacio Zabala in 2004.
In 2010 obtains the 2° Prize Quinquela Martin; In 2007 the 1st prize Bienal AGGA, wich means argentinian association of art Galleries. Her works have been selected in the most important awards such as the Nacional (2006); the M. Belgrano (2005); Aerolineas Argentinas (2005); F. Felix Amador; the National Academy of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires(2009 and 2005), etc. Almost, she obtains Honors in awards in the Hebraica, Bs. As.; the Argentinian chamber of construction in Córdoba; Linares Cardozo in La Paz, Entre Ríos, etc. ones. In 2003 she obtained the 1st prize of the Avon foundation.
Among her individual samples stand out the Casa Rosada (Pink House of government) 2008; Consorcio de Arte, gallery in 2009, 2007 and 2006; The Normandina, Mar del Plata 2010 and 2007; and Palais de Glace 2002.
She has participated in Edinburgh Art Fair, Scotland 2010, Mia Art fair, Miami 2010, Arte Ba, art fair 2008 and 2004. Expotrastiendas art fair 2005, 2006 and 2007. Collectively she exposed her art at the Recoleta Cultural Center, Borges Cultural Center, Giesso space, etc.
Major private and public collections around the world have her works. She was invited in 2006 to teach arts the Iaime journals in Venezuela. Kiki has an active participation in formative art events, specially in the country side and particulary in Entre Ríos where she grew up, stand out the coordination of Galas del Riointernational event in La Paz, E.R., 2010 and 2009.
This contemporary artist has centered the production of her last years in women and their roll in society. Through her works in painting, object and sculpture she creates climates that go from delicious beauty to the most absolute tension, in both cases with a mature and revelling result.
